Head Coach, Matt Pokigo
Matt Pokigo begins his fourth year as Daemen's head golf coach. Prior to taking the program over, Pokigo served as an assistant for three years. Pokigo is a former member of the Daemen golf team and is a two-time NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete. He was a two-time team captain and was once named team MVP. Pokigo is a member of Daemen's Athletic Hall of Fame and was the first Daemen athlete to be an NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete in two sports (golf & soccer). He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Accounting and has since received a Masters in Global Business with a specialization in Marketing.
Assistant Coach, Dan Garigen
Dan Garigen begins his third year as an assistant coach with the Daemen Wildcats golf program this fall. As a student-athlete, Garigen competed for four years as a member of Daemen's golf team, including one year as team captain. Garigen graduated in the fall of 2010 with his Master's Degree in Professional Accountancy, and currently works as a staff accountant at a public accounting firm in downtown Buffalo. Garigen's passion for the game of golf, and local ties make him a valuable recruiting asset to the Daemen golf program. His experiences playing collegiate golf and thorough understanding of what it takes to be competitive at this level will continue to be an important advantage in mentoring the new and returning players.
Assistant Coach, Bryan Mika
Bryan Mika enters his third year with the Daemen College golf team as an assistant coach. Mika is a Daemen graduate and former four-year starter for the Wildcats. His resume includes two team MVP selections and a number of medalist honors throughout his collegiate career. Mika's passion for golf and his drive to improve each athlete give the program a new added dimension. Mika brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team, and is a welcomed asset.
Mika is married to his wife, Tara, and the couple has recently added a newborn baby boy, Collin, to their family.
