Head Coach, Mark Spacone

Mark Spacone begins his second season as Head Men's Soccer Coach at Daemen College in 2012.

Spacone brings a wealth of knowledge to the Daemen program with 16 years of experience after stops at nearly every level of the game, including collegiate, high school, club and Olympic Development. Spacone is currently a staff coach for Revolution Empire Soccer Academy (U.S. Soccer National Development Academy member) where he is charged with running Empire Training Centers which are used to identify and evaluate players for the full Revolution Empire Academy team. He is also a former Associate Director of Coaching with NY State West Youth Soccer Association where he was responsible for administering coaching education courses ranging from Youth Modules to E and D license courses. Spacone holds a U.S. Soccer A License and a U.S. Soccer National Youth License. He is also a former collegiate athlete himself, having played for Buffalo State College.

Spacone is currently an Economics and Global Studies teacher at Lackawanna High School. He earned a Bachelors Degree in History and Italian as well as a Master's Degree in Social Studies Education from Buffalo State College. Spacone is also co-founder of Sam's Army, a supporters' club for the U.S. National Team.

Assistant Coach, Rob Jackman

Rob Jackman enters his second season as the lead assistant on the Daemen men's soccer coaching staff for the 2012 season. He is a New York State West Olympic Development Program Head Coach and a youth coach with the Empire United Soccer Academy.

Jackman has his National "B" and National "Y" License through the U.S. Soccer Federation as well as a State Goalkeeping Certificate from New York State West Y.S.A.

Jackman and his wife, Cristina, live in Depew with their two children - Claudia and Sam.

 

Assistant Coach, Steven Doermer

Steven Doermer begins his third year as a member of the Daemen men's soccer coaching staff. A former four-year scholarship player for the Wildcats, he earned Honorable Mention ALL-AMC honors in his time on the pitch for Daemen. Steve recently completed his second year of physical therapy grad school and he possesses a National D License.

 

Assistant Coach, Tom Kacalski

Tom Kacalski returns for his second season on the Daemen men's soccer coaching staff. He is currently a social studies teacher at Lackawanna High School. Kacalski has been a varsity coach for the Lackawanna boys and girls soccer teams, as well as coaching for the Hamburg Soccer Club for many years. He holds a NSCAA Goalkeeping Level II Certification. Tom lives in Hamburg with his Michelle, his daughters Melissa and Caitlin, and his son Joshua.

 

Assistant Coach, Chris Spacone

Chris Spacone begins his second year on the men's soccer staff at Daemen College in 2012. Chris bring a varied coaching background to the Daemen staff as he has worked at different levels of collegiate soccer as well as the All Air Force Soccer Program, in additional to his coaching experiences at the high school and club levels. He holds a National D soccer coaching license. Currently, Chris is a Master Sargent C130 Crew Chief at Niagara Falls Air Force Base. He resides in Amherst with his wife Lisa and her children, Nicole and Jack.
