November 6, 2009 Recap

The Wildcats had a very rough game offensively and lost to Indiana Southeast, 67-62, in the first game of St. Francis University's tournament.  Daemen shot only 38.3% from the field and committed an astounding 35 turnovers with 21 of them coming in the first half.  Both teams got called for over a dozen traveling violations.  

Despite hitting only 9 of 26 shots to go along with all the turnovers, the Wildcats only trailed by one (24-23) at the half.  Indiana SE picked up their game offensively in the second half hitting 50% from the field (16-32) including 5-9 from three-point range.  The Wildcats trailed throughout the second half and by as many as 13 but cut the lead to four with 1:00 to play.  IU-SE hit free throws their next possession and Daemen could not get any closer. 

Bridgette Burke led the Wildcats with 16 points and nine rebounds.  Sarah Soroka added 14 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks.  Ellie Allen had 10 points. Marybeth Nugent led in assists with four.  IU-SE was led by Whitney Duncan (14 points, 7 assists) and Morgan Hunsaker (10 points).

Daemen plays 16th ranked St. Francis tomorrow at 4:00pm.
